The Montague girls basketball team continued its perfect start to the season with another win Wednesday night. The Wildcats topped Ravenna 50-19 to move to 11-0 on the year.

The Wildcats controlled the entire game, outscoring Ravenna 13-6 in the first quarter before shutting them out entirely in the second to take a 22-6 halftime lead. 

Montague continued putting the pressure on throughout the contest, holding Ravenna to four points in the third quarter, and cruised to the win.

Ally Hall led the charge for Montague, recording 16 points, 11 rebounds and four steals. Andie Zamojcin followed that up with 13 points and six rebounds.

Haley Lemkie had eight points and five rebounds for Ravenna.

The win puts Montague at a perfect 11-0 on the season and 10-0 in the West Michigan Conference, while the loss sends Ravenna to 4-8 overall, and 2-8 in the WMC.

WEST MICHIGAN CONFERENCE

HART 63, NORTH MUSKEGON 29 — The Pirates pulled away after halftime to down the Norse in a West Michigan Conference game Wednesday.

Both offenses started strong, with Hart taking a 22-14 advantage after one quarter. The Pirates built the lead to 37-20 heading to the half. 

Hart locked in defensively after the break, holding North Muskegon to nine points total while scoring 26 points of their own while cruising to the win.

Jayd Hovey stuffed the state sheet for Hart, totaling 22 points, seven steals, five rebounds and five assists. Aspen Boutell chipped in 14 points.

Josee Cooke led the Norse with eight points. 

The win puts Hart at 11-3 overall and 10-2 in the WMC. North Muskegon falls to 3-8 overall and 2-8 in the conference with the loss.

NON CONFERENCE

WESTERN MICHIGAN CHRISTIAN 51, NORTHPOINTE CHRISTIAN 32 — A big third quarter lifted the Warriors to a comeback win over Northpointe Christian in non-conference action.

The Mustangs led 11-9 after one quarter and 17-15 at halftime. But WMC found a groove after the break, gaining a 26-4 edge in the third quarter to flip the game and take a 41-21 lead into the fourth.

Kyla Wiersema led WMC, putting up 21 points, 10 rebounds, five steals and two blocks. She recorded 12 points and three steals in the third quarter outburst alone. 

Maddie Wiersema and Taylor Folkema each added 10 points for the Warriors, while Kelcea Waller had four steals.

The win puts Western Michigan Christian at 12-1 overall, including a 6-1 mark in the Lakes 8 Conference.

WHITE CLOUD 34, MASON COUNTY CENTRAL 22 — The Spartans fell behind early against White Cloud and never recovered in a non-conference loss.

White Cloud jumped out to a 12-5 first quarter lead and remained on top the rest of the game. Mason County Central was unable to climb out of the early hole, trailing 16-10 at halftime and 27-16 at the end of the third.

Gabby Jensen led the way for MCC with six points and six rebounds.

The loss sends the Spartans to 4-9 overall, and they stay at 3-8 in the West Michigan Conference.
