SCOTTVILLE — A strong offensive showing that had three girls score in double figures helped propel the Mason County Central girls’ basketball team past Brethren, 52-34, in a non-conference home game Tuesday night.

The Spartans won for the third time in a row, and led all the way against the Bobcats after taking a 24-14 lead at the half.

Wren Nelson paced the attack for the Spartans with 19 points, including eight in the fourth quarter. Grace Weinert contributed another 12, including three 3-pionters, and Mallory Miller finished with 10.

Mason County Central bumped its record to 14-4 overall. The Spartans host Fremont in a conference cross-over contest Wednesday night.
