MUSKEGON – The Muskegon Community College men’s basketball ran out to a quick double-digit lead, but it didn’t last in a 73-69 loss to Alpena Community College.

The game was played at Bartels-Rode Gymnasium at MCC.

After building the lead, the Jayhawks were plagued by turnovers and Alpena stormed ahead and took a 41-29 lead at the half.

The Jayhawks battled back and had a chance at tying the game with a late 3-pointer, but didn’t connect.

Jacob Mueller led MCC (8-14, 4-5) with 22 points and eight rebounds. Benjamin Clark added 17 points, six rebounds and three assists.

Muskegon CC hosts Grand Rapids Community College on Wednesday.
