MUSKEGON – Poor ice conditions at Trinity Health Arena forced the cancellation of the USHL game between the Muskegon Lumberjacks and the Team USA Under-17 teams on Saturday night.

After 40 minutes of play, the ice near the Team USA net was deemed unplayable and the game was stopped with Muskegon leading, 3-0.

The game is expected to be completed at a later date, which will be determined by the league.

Muskegon will travel to play the Under-17 squad Sunday before playing its following three contests in Green Bay against the Gamblers.

The Jacks led 2-0 at the end of the opening period with goals from Matvei Gridin and Ty Henricks at the 8:53 and 12:18 marks, respectively.

Muskegon added another goal 5:16 into the second period from Joe Connor.
