Whitehall captures league victory despite strong night from Oakridge’s Lundquist

WHITEHALL – The Whitehall girls basketball team topped Oakridge, 53-44, for a WMC-Lakes victory on Friday night.

The Eagles took the early lead as they went up 12-10 after the first quarter, but the Vikings pulled ahead 30-22 by halftime. That second quarter push proved to be the difference as the Vikings outscored the Eagles 23-22 over the second half.

Anna Lundquist posted a double-double of 20 points, 11 rebounds and eight blocks for the Eagles. Cambria Guenthardt added 12 points and eight steals.

Whitehall (7-10, 5-5) will be at home against Mason County Central on Monday.

Oakridge (4-12, 2-8) is set to travel to Morley Stanwood on Tuesday.
