MUSKEGON – Ashley Folkema filled the stat sheet as she helped lead the Western Michigan Christian girls’ basketball team to a 67-30 Alliance League victory over Muskegon Catholic on Friday.

“We played a great game tonight,” said WMC coach Sarah Koetsier. “We were unselfish with the ball and looked for opportunities to highlight the strengths of our teammates.”

Folkema posted 24 points, nine rebounds, nine steals and five assists for the Warriors. Eveline Derdowski added 10 points and five rebounds, while Kate Derdowski and Emersyn Paling each scored eight points.

WMC (10-4, 4-0) will be at home on Tuesday against Byron Center Zion Christian. 

Muskegon Catholic (4-11, 1-5) will host Grand Rapids West Michigan Aviation Academy for league play on Tuesday.
