FRUITPORT – The host Fruitport Trojans ended their 16-game winning streak at the most opportune time – in the Division 2 district tournament.
On Monday night, the Trojans turned in a solid second half and defeated Orchard View 39-23 to advance to Wednesday’s district semifinal game against Montague.
Fruitport (6-17) led by six at the half, then surged to a 24=14 scoring advantage in the second half to earn the victory.
Izzy Hanson-Wilbur led Fruitport with 12 points.
