CUSTER — Brethren knocked down three 3-point baskets in the third quarter and keyed a 48-36 victory over Manistee Catholic Central in the Division 4 district final at Mason County Eastern Friday night.

The Sabers (15-9) had lost to the Bobcats 62-19 and 41-26 during the regular season in the West Michigan D League, kept it close through three quarters.

Manistee Catholic trailed 14-13 after one, 28-21 at the half and 37-30 at the end of three.

Regan Leiffers scored 16 points to lead the Sabers, while Rianna Leiffers, Maddie Gunia and Brenna Johnson finished with six apiece.
