Manistee looking forward to districts after completing regular season with victory over Pine River

MANISTEE – Manistee’s girls basketball team concluded the regular season Thursday night with a 57-49 non-conference win over Pine River at home.

Jayna Edmondson scored 19 points and Libby McCarthy contributed 13 as the Mariners improved to 10-12 and now prepares for the Division 2 district tournament Monday night in Manton.

The Mariners play these same Bucks in the first round.

Alayna Edmondson contributed 10 assists and came away with eight steals for Manistee.

Manistee trailed 14-12 at the end of the first quarter, but outscored the Bucks 20-10 in the second to race out to a 32-24 halftime lead. The Mariners led 46-29 after three.
