BIG RAPIDS – The Muskegon Big Reds won their 12th straight game in Thursday night’s 40-28 victory over Cadillac.

The game was the Division 1 regional championship game and sends the Big Reds into Tuesday’s quarterfinal matchup against a familiar foe, Zeeland West. That game is 7 p.m. Tuesday at Grand Haven High School. The game originally was scheduled to be played at Greenville.

On Thursday, Muskegon raced out to a 16-5 lead after the opening quarter. While Cadillac did make a couple runs at the Big Reds throughout the game, Muskegon prevailed and raised its record to 23-2.

M’Khi, whose free-throw shooting down the stretch sparked the Big Reds, finished with nine points as did Justin Watson. Terrance Davis added eight points.

Charlie Howell, a four-year varsity player, led Cadillac with 18 points.
