HOLLAND – The Spring Lake boys swimming team advanced three relay and four individual swimmers after the first day of the Division 3 state swim meet at Holland Aquatic Center on Friday.

The Lakers also swam to 13 personal records on the day.

“It was great to see this group of great young men see their hard work, dedication, belief in themselves, in their teammates and giving everything they had today,” said Spring Lake coach Mick Homan. “We are very proud of the guys and can’t wait to see them finish strong at the finals.”

Johnny Wachter advanced in the 50 free and 100 fly, while Noah Fletcher moved on in the 50 free and 100 free. Wachter and Fletcher will team up with Ryan Fisher and Nathan Navarre in the 200-medley relay. 

Fletcher, Wachter, Kyle Eacker and Fisher will compete in the 200 free relay. The team of Eacker, Graham Porter, Alex Strauss and Fisher will swim in the 400 free relay in the finals.

Finals will be back at Holland Aquatic Center on Saturday.
