Grant upends Morley-Stanwood in softball opener; second game suspended due to darkness

 

In a high-scoring softball contest on Tuesday, Grant outlasted Morley-Stanwood 18-12 in the first game of a scheduled doubleheader.

 

The nightcap was suspended in the third inning due to darkness.

 

In the opener, Emma Thompson led the Tigers with a home run, double, single, four RBI and three runs scored. Lilly De Los Santos had two hits, including a double, and two RBI. Kaylin Hawes h ad two hits, one a double, and scored four runs.

 

Reese Gragg was the winning pitcher. She had six strikeouts.
