MUSKEGON – The Reeths-Puffer Rockets posted a pair of league softball victories over the Mona Shores Sailors on Tuesday afternoon.
 
The Rockets won the opener 12-0 and the nightcap, 13-7.
 
In the first game, Lainey McDaniel allowed no hits in four innings on the mound. She had eight strikeouts. Kyleigh Bilek pitched the last inning of the five-inning contest.
 
Mady Snyder led the Rocket hitting attack with a triple and two singles. Natalie Kunnen added two singles and Megan Barnes had a triple.
 
For Mona Shores, Amelia Pena and Emma Mettler each had one hit for the Sailors. Miley Peterson and Lilly Baskins shared time on the pitcher’s mound for Shores, which committed eight errors.
 
In the nightcap, Snyder was the winning pitcher. She also chipped in three hits at the plate, including a triple. Emmie Buzzell added two singles.
 
Maggie McCarthy provided the highlight for Mona Shores in the second game with a grand slam home run in the fourth inning. Five errors hurt the Sailors’ cause in the game.
 
Reeths-Puffer takes on Holland West Ottawa on Saturday.
