Mona Shores’ trip up north nets the Sailors a non-league soccer victory

TRAVERSE CITY – The Mona Shores girls soccer team capped off their long trip to Traverse City Central with a 1-0 win on Saturday.

The Sailors outshot Traverse City Central, 9-1.

Ella Charland netted the lone goal in the first half off a corner kick by Addison Fisher.

Ava Freye, Mal Hogston, Ella Kinney and Olivia Naylor were credited with all-around solid play.

Goalkeeper Jersey VanderWall earned her sixth shutout of the season.

Mona Shores (7-1-1, 3-0-1) will travel to Grand Rapids Union on Tuesday for an OK-Green game.
