The Hart softball team scored 27 total runs in a doubleheader sweep on Thursday over Montague.

The Pirates won the first game 12-10, then cruised to a 15-5 victory in the nightcap.

Gabby Quijas earned the win in game one, allowing five runs on seven hits in relief. Starting pitcher Kelsey Copenhaver allowed five runs on three hits.

Abby Hicks led Hart with three hits, including a three-run homer, while Julia Bishop added two hits and two RBI. Copenhaver chipped in with a pair of hits.

In game two, Reese Smith picked up the win, allowing five runs on three hits while striking out three batters.

Smith, Makenna Carrier, Leah Walker, Copenhaver and Caydence Bateson each had two hits to lead Hart offensively in the nightcap.
