NORTH MUSKEGON – The North Muskegon and Fremont softball teams recorded double-digit home runs in a doubleheader split on Thursday evening.

The Packers took the opener, 5-4.

The Packers’ Rainee Dey-Rayl had three hits. Kenzie Homrich had nine strikeouts and Maddie Baden gave up three runs.

Maddy Balon and Rylee Cooper each homered for the Norse, while Bella Sima and Baila Lang added two hits apiece. Balon gave up six hits, five runs and struck out 10 batters.

In the nightcap, the Norse edged out the Eagles, 13-10, and posted six more home runs.

Audrey Brown and Cooper each had a pair of homers, while Mila VonTol and Balon added a homer apiece. Braedi Parker earned the win in the circle. 

The Packers’ Dey-Rayl recorded multiple home runs and had four hits. Hanna Mello added four hits. 

North Muskegon will be at Ravenna for a West Michigan Conference contest on Tuesday.

Fremont will also see WMC play on Tuesday when they visit Oakridge.
