The Muskegon Community College softball dropped the opener, but battled back to win the nightcap against Mid Michigan Community College on Saturday.

In the opener, the Jayhawks fell 6-2, but came back for a 10-3 victory in the nightcap.

In the opener, Brooklyn Galdeen and Olive Staal each had a hit and an RBI. Rachel Romero, Hannah Aldred and Jasmine Pastor each had one hit.

Aldred suffered the loss on the mound with six innings of work. She allowed six runs on 10 hits.

It was a different story in the nightcap as the Jayhawks plated 10 runs in the five-inning game.

Staal had three hits, one a double, and scored three runs for MCC.  Illeana Hatcher and Romero had two hits each. Hatcher knocked in two and scored two while Romero belted a home run, knocked in two runs and scored a pair of runs. Andrea Romero had two hits and plated one run.

Galdeen and Pastor each had two RBI.

Lilli Goodrich allowed two runs on four hits in five innings of work on the mound. She had six strikeouts.
