The Muskegon Community College Jayhawk softball team finished off its weekend with a doubleheader sweep over Mid Michigan Community College on Sunday.

That means the Jayhawks won three of the four weekend games after a split on Saturday.

On Sunday, MCC won the opener 4-3 and captured the nightcap with an 8-0 shutout.

In Game 1, Brooklyn Galdeen pitched seven strong innings. She allowed three runs on seven hits and struck out eight. At the plate, she had a hit and scored a run.

Jasmine Pastor swung the big stick in the opener with two hits, including a home run and a double. She knocked in a pair of runs. Andrea Romero added a double and Olive Staal had two hits and one RBI.

Lilli Goodrich was solid on the mound in the nightcap. She allowed no runs and two hits while striking out four. She pitched five innings.

Willo Staal, Olive Staal and Andrea Romero each had two hits to lead the hitting attack. Willo Staal had an RBI and scored twice, Olive Staal had a double, two RBI and scored a run and Romero had an RBI and scored a run.

Pastoor had one hit, an RBI and scored a run.

MCC is now 12-8 and will host Cornerstone’s JV team at 3 p.m. Tuesday.
