MUSKEGON – The Fremont girls soccer team bounced back from a slow first half to top Muskegon Catholic Central, 4-1, on Monday evening.
The Crusaders’ Lyla Kotecki opened the scoring with the lone goal to roll into halftime with a 1-0 lead.
The Packers were still scoreless until 20 minutes left to play, when they began to find the night. Riley Chase netted a hat-trick and Mia Clemence posted a single goal to propel the Packers ahead in the last half.
Hallie Snyder stopped two shots for the Packers, while the Crusaders’ Lindsay Ladd made 13 saves.
Fremont (2-0) will visit Oakridge on Wednesday.
Muskegon Catholic Central (0-1) is set to host Grant on Friday.
