MHSAA’s Reaching Higher Basketball Showcase hosts several area boys basketball players

Michigan’s top high school basketball players are attening the MHSAA’s annual Reaching Higher showcase today at South Lyon High School and several area players are participating.

Invited from Muskegon were Deyonta Davis, Joeviair Kennedy, William Roberson, and Deshawn Thrower.

Mike Warren from Fruitport Calvary Christian and Brandon Childress from Baldwin Community Schools were also invited.

Big man Bernard Smith from Western Michigan Christian was invited as well.

The invite is for athletes who aspire to reach the college level. Training mainly consists of scrimmages that take place in front of college coaches from all three divisions of the NCAA, also the NAIA and junior college levels. Atheltes also work on

The day also involves work station drills that focus on offensive transitions, defensive transitions, shooting off the dribble and shooting off the pass.
