MUSKEGON – The Orchard View baseball team swept the Muskegon Big Reds in a doubleheader on Saturday.

The Cardinals blanked the Big Reds 10-0 in the opener and won the second game, 14-3.

Zach Peterson gave up two hits, four walks and struck out eight batters. Peterson helped his own cause by scoring two runs and knocking in three runs.

Emilio Villarreal had one hit, one run and two RBI, while Korson Brown had one hit and scored two runs. Jaxon Tuttle chipped in one hit and one run. Thomas Klein had two RBI, while Noah Smith and Chase Bundt each scored two runs.

In the second game, Villarreal allowed six hits, three runs, four walks and struck out nine.

Klein had three hits, two runs and three RBI, while Smith posted two hits and three runs. Bowen contributed two hits and two runs. Villarreal had one hit and two runs. Curtis Scott and Tuttle each had a hit and two RBI.

Orchard View will travel to Ludington on Tuesday for a twinbill.

Muskegon will be at Reeths-Puffer for an OK-Green doubleheader on Tuesday.
