MUSKEGON – Reeths-Puffer baseball completed a late-game comeback for an 8-7 win over Oakridge on Friday evening.

The Rockets’s exciting non-conference win came after trailing 7-3 in the fifth inning.

Brayden Mitchelson got the start on the mound for RP and gave up four runs but struck out five batters in five innings. Holden Earnest came in and struck out two in a single inning. Jaxson Whitaker closed out the game with three strikeouts in the seventh inning.

Earnest led the Rockets at the plate with three hits and two doubles, while Trent Reichert had two hits. Ethan Frang had a hit and knocked in the winning run. Jack Yonkman, Mitchelson, Quinn Alderink and Caiden Theisen each added a hit.

The Eagles’ Vitek Benes had two hits and two runs, while Brody Jennings added in two hits, one run and an RBI. Zac Cribbins had a double and two RBI.

Reeths-Puffer is set to visit Grand Rapids Union on Thursday for an OK Conference-Green matchup.

Oakridge next travels to Manistee on Tuesday.
