WHITEHALL – The Whitehall baseball team split a twinbill evening against Oakridge on Tuesday.

The Eagles took game one with a score of 4-2.

Ryne Christensen gave up five hits and two runs, but struck out 10 batters over five innings. Brock Morningstar allowed three hits and two runs while striking out two.

The Eagles’ Michael Wambaugh and Landon Southard provided the winning combination at the mound.

Brody Jennings had two hits, one run and an RBI for Oakridge. Julian Primer had two hits and a run. Bryce Bisson and Noah McFadyen came in clutch with a run each in extra innings to grab the win.

The Vikings’ Noah Meinert and Kyle Stratton each had a hit and scored a run. Christensen, Morningstar, Ryan Goodrich and Eli Winters had a hit apiece. 

The Vikings led game two, 2-1, before it was called for darkness.

Whitehall will take on Zeeland East and Glenn on Saturday.

Oakridge will be at home for a doubleheader on Thursday against North Muskegon.
