FREMONT – The Fremont softball team, sparked by a no-hitter by Kenzie Homrich in the nightcap, swept the Orchard View Cardinals on Tuesday.

The Packers won, 19-5 and 13-0.

Sophia Romine gave up three runs and struck out three batters on the mound in the opener.

Elise Pfeiffer had three hits and five RBI for the Packers. Hanna Melo collected four hits, while Rainee Dey-Rayl, Homrich and Ava Cook each had multiple hits.

Homrich struck out seven batters in the second game.

Dey-Rayl had three hits. Melo chipped in two hits and three RBI, while Maddie Baden, Savannah Hall and Cook each had multiple hits.

Fremont hosts Reed City on Thursday.

Orchard View will be at home on Wednesday against Kent City.
