BIG RAPIDS – The Kent City softball team went winless in a CSAA doubleheader against Big Rapids on Tuesday evening.

The Eagles were edged out, 2-1, then fell 12-1.

Lylah Larson gave up nine hits, two runs and struck out six batters in the opener.

Laynee Hoffman had a hit and scored a run. Cailynn Hartzell added a hit and an RBI, while Brooklin Armstrong and Ellie Hansen each had a hit.

In the second game, Larson allowed nine hits, seven runs and struck out two. Hartzell gave up three hits, five runs and struck out a batter.

Armstrong had two hits and a run. Laila Mortenson and Hartzell each chipped in a single hit.

Kent City will be at home against White Cloud for league play on Friday.
