SAUGATUCK – The Mona Shores Sailors captured the OK-Green golf title on Wednesday at The Ravines Golf Club.

The Sailors finished with a score of 334, three strokes ahead of runner-up Zeeland West, which had a 337. The Reeths-Puffer Rockets were third with a 338, followed by Holland at 347, Zeeland East with a 355 and Grand Rapids Union at 372.

Leading the way for Mona Shores was sophomore Eddie Kuznar, who finished third with an 18-hole total of 78. Sailor Lucas Dethloff tied for sixth with an 82.

Logan Bomers from Zeeland West was the medalist with a 75. Reeths-Puffer sophomore Kristian Brown came in second with a season-best 77.

“Kristian Brown has been real close to putting a good round together and today was that day,” Rocket coach Matt Pallett said. “He is striking the ball well and putted better today. He is definitely trending in the right direction heading to regionals next week.”

Also for Reeths-Puffer, Ayden Hartzell finished with an 81 that included 10 pars. Senior Dylan Panozzo had an 88. Sophomore Ryleigh Beebe finished with a 92. Other Rocket golfers included Jake Lee with a 93 and Aiden Waggoner with a 98.

For the Rockets, Brown was an all-conference selection and Panozzo was named honorable mention.

“Overall, it was a solid day for the team,” Pallett said. “We had two players finish within the top 10. I am happy for both of them (Brown and Hartzell).”
