HART – The No. 4 state-ranked Ravenna softball team put away Hart in a West Michigan Conference-Rivers twin bill on Wednesday.

The Bulldogs dominated the Pirates, 13-0 and 13-2.

Bulldog pitcher Addison Gillard gave up just one hit and struck out eight batters in the opener.

The Pirates’ Gabby Quijas gave up nine runs and Reese Smith allowed four runs.

Gillard led Ravenna at the plate with three hits, one a double. Raelyn Olsen had three hits, including one double, while Taylor Nutt had a triple. Reese Herremans, Sydney Morrissey, Natalie Rosel and Kendra Denhof each had a hit.

Gabby Schmieding had the lone hit for the Pirates.

In the second game, Rosel led the way at bat and on the mound.

Rosel gave up two hits, two runs and struck out eight batters. She smacked a pair of home runs at the plate. Denhof chipped in two hits, while Herremans, Morrissey and Riley Homoly had a hit apiece.

On the mound for the Pirates, Smith allowed eight hits, 13 runs and struck out one batter.

The Pirates’ Kelsey Copenhaver had a two-RBI single. Maryn Klotz had one hit.

Ravenna (25-8, 12-0) will host Hudsonville Unity Christian on Thursday.

Hart (22-11, 7-5) will be at home against Fremont on Friday.
