ALPENA – It as a busy weekend of softball for the Muskegon Community College Jayhawks.
 
Busy, but very successful as the Jayhawks defeated Alpena three times on Saturday and once on Sunday.
 
On Saturday, MCC won 15-5, 14-4 and 11-6. Sunday’s game ended up 8-0 in the Jayhawks’ favor.
 
In the first game, Willo Staal had three hits, including a home run and a double. She knocked in two runs and scored three times. Andrea Romero also had three hits, also with a home run and a double. She knocked in a pair of runs and scored twice. Ileana Hatcher had two hits, one a double. Jasmine Pastor belted a home run.
 
Brooklyn Galdeen was the winning pitcher.
 
In the second game, Pastor had a huge game for the Jayhawks with three hits, including a home run and a double. She had six RBI and scored three times. Lilli Goodrich, the winning pitcher, had three hits and two RBI while Romero had a triple, double and two RBI.
 
In Saturday’s third game, Galdeen smacked a home run among her three hits.  She knocked in four runs and scored twice. Staal also hit a home run. She had two  RBI and scored three runs. Romero had two hits and two RBI.
 
Willo Staal was the winning pitcher with two innings of relief from Galdeen.
 
On Sunday, Willo Staal pitched two innings and Galdeen four in the shutout victory.
 
Pastor kept up her hot hitting with four more hits. Willo Staal had three hits, including a home run, and two RBI. Galdeen belted a home run among her three hits. She had two RBI. Trinity Swanson added a pair of hits.
 
MCC is now 26-10 and finished the conference slate with a 19-1 record. Regional play begins at 4 p.m Thursday.
