PETOSKEY – The Spring Lake baseball team won the Petoskey Invitational on Saturday with a pair of solid victories.

The Lakers opened with a 3-0 shutout win over Charlevoix.

Zane Stahl gave up two hits and struck out nine batters.

Alex Batka had a two-run single, while Jaden Core added an RBI single. Gabe Trask and Oliver Smies each had a single.

In the championship, the Lakers breezed by host Petoskey, 6-1.

Will May and Smies combined to give up just four hits and strike out nine batters.

Trask led the offense with three hits. May and Dayton Clark chipped in two hits apiece.

Spring Lake (13-7) will host Holland Christian for a doubleheader on Tuesday.
