NORTON SHORES – The Whitehall baseball team was edged out by Mona Shores, 3-2, in the opening round of GMAA play on Saturday.
Ryne Christensen took the loss on the mound and gave up three hits, two runs and a walk, but struck out two batters. Brock Morningstar allowed two hits and a run.
Ryan Goodrich and Kyle Stratton each had a hit and scored a run. Nathan Taranko added one hit and an RBI, while Morningstar, Isaac Van Amberg and Noah Meinert each had a hit.
Whitehall will visit Orchard View on Tuesday.
