Lady Turtles swim team takes second place at Spring Lake innovational

The Lady Turtles swim team competed in the 2021 High School Girls Spring Lake Invite winning five out of twelve events and finishing second overall.

The team swam to 29 personal record swims and dives.

The 200 Free Relay team of Sydney Sytsema, Gabby Gaston, Caroline Carlson and Robyn Hunt competed hard qualifying for the MISCA Meet.

First place honors went to Eliza Piper in the 200 IM, Sydney Sytsema in the 50 free, Robyn Hunt for the 500 free and Caroline Carlson in the 100 back and 200 free relay.

With the runner-up finish and quality performance of his team Head Swim Coach Mick Homan is still looking to grow and get better.

“It was a good wakeup call for us to show where we are in our training and what we need to work on to get faster going forward,” said Coach Homan. “It was good to see us have many personal record swims and dives and many swimmers bring home medals.”
