The Whitehall Vikings’ football season came to a tough end on Friday with a 20-16 loss to Chippewa Hills in the first round of the Division 4 state playoffs in Remus.LSJ Logo incert

Chippewa Hills took a 6-3 lead on a 60-yard touchdown pass with one second left in the first quarter.

The Vikings took a 10-6 lead after Jwan Britton scored on a five-yard touchdown run only four minutes into the second quarter.

The Viking lead was short-lived. Two minutes later Chippewa Hills scored on a two yard run to take a 13-10 lead.

Chippewa Hills found the end-zone again 1:40 later with a 74-yard passing touchdown to take a 20-10 lead into halftime.

The Vikings cut the Chippewa Hills lead to 20-16 late in the third quarter with a five yard rushing touchdown from Zarren Aylor.

Neither team scored in the fourth quarter.

Zarren Aylor led the Viking attack with 11-for-24 passing for 99 yards and 31 carries for 126 yards and one touchdown.

Keenan Aylor led the Whitehall receivers with five catches for 62 yards. He also led the defense with six tackles while Connor Rake, Chayce Swanson and Luke Morningstar all had one interception for the Vikings.
