Oakridge put it all together Thursday night in a 48-0 West Michigan Conference victory against host Mason County Central.

Up next  is another blockbuster matchup on Friday night against Montague.

“It’s our first home game and it’s a big test for us,” Oakridge coach Cary Harger said. “We’re looking forward to it as we do every year with that game. If we want a conference title, we have to go through every team. They are next on the list.”

Dan Shoop carried 17 times for 133 yards and three TDs to lead the Oakridge’s ground attack. Francis Decker added 12 carries for 106 yards and two TDs, including an 80-yard run on the first play of the game.

Quarterback Austin Wright also rushed for 69 yards and one TD and passed for 64 yards.

The Eagles totaled 453 yards, 389 via the rush. Oakridge’s defense allowed 102 yards.

Chris Mason scored Oakridge’s last TD on a 2-yard run and Beka Shepherd booted three extra points for the Eagles.

Derek Masterman and Branden Jasso each had seven tackles for the Oakridge defense, which forced three turnovers.

Montague 51, Hart 0 – At Hart, Montague built a 44-0 lead by halftime. The Wildcats’ Chris Carroll finished 7-of-8 passing for 148 yards and four touchdowns and Brandon Moore led the rushing attack with three carries for 57 yards. Randy Facundo led the Pirates with 44 yards on 13 carries and added 11 tackles on defense.

Newaygo 45, Chippewa Hills 24 – Newaygo scored 24 first-half points and rolled to the CSAA Conference win over Chippewa Hills. Newaygo quarterback Weston Butler was 7-of-11 passing for 126 yards and three scores. Heath Harrington rushed for 92 yards and Brandon Foster added 90 yards on the ground for the Lions. Tony Gill caught two passes for 74 yards and Brett Kartyfouski led the Newaygo defense with eight tackles.

Lakeview 30, Holton 22 –Holton fell to 0-2 with a road loss to Lakeview.

Big Rapids 33, Hesperia 15 – Hesperia’s record evened at 1-1 after dropping a home decision to Big Rapids.
