The Muskegon Community College womens soccer team lost a pair of games over the weekend, 3-2 to Cincinnati State Technical and Community College on Saturday and 2-0 to Owens Community College on Sunday.

The Jayhawks led 2-1 at halftime against Cincinnati State before bowing down the stretch, Erika Bayak and Taylor Walker scored goals for MCC.

Against Owens, the Jayhawks struggled to build an attack against a strong defense. MCC’s best chance for a goal came with four minutes left to play when Alyssa Benedict just missed the net. Aliza Olsen had a number of quality passes that worked to set up Jayhawk forwards.

“We have  a young team that has some growing to do,” said MCC goalie Joshua Watson. “I feel confident that we will catch stride soon and and we will start turning this boat around.”
