“We started out really well but had a  rough serve receive rotation at the end of the first set and we just got stuck, which caused us to play really tentative,” said Grant coach Tricia Schuitema. “We struggled to side out a bit tonight, but had great contribution by all of our players, which was positive for us.  We finished strong in the final set, and I was proud of the girls for that.”

The Tigers, who improve to 16-2 overall, received a big 1-2 punch from the combination of Sierra Schuitema and Laura Bouwkamp. Schuitema, the Tigers’ setter, had 30 assists, 11 kills and six digs, while Bouwkamp totaled 14 kills from her outside hitter position. She was also dominant serving with 11 aces.

Ashley Herin led Grant with 14 digs during the match.
