The Wildcats led at halftime 29-27 and ended the game with a 20-14 fourth quarter run.

Merritt Hamann added 13 points for Montague.

SHELBY 72, FREMONT 48 – The Tigers used a 20-3 second quarter advantage to pull away for a season opening win. Dustin Carlson-Hicks led the Tigers with 17 points while Jeff Beckman added 14 points and 11 rebounds. Fremont was led by Connor Gronso with 12 points and Sam Kaastra with 11 points.

MASON COUNTY CENTRAL 62, NEWAYGO 45 – The Spartans were led by Mitch Lang with 17 points. Ryan Mounts added 11 points and nine rebounds. Pacing the Newaygo offense was Sean Karipp with 26 points.

GRANDVILLE CALVIN CHRISTIAN 49, WESTERN MICHIGAN CHRISTIAN 30 – The Warriors struggled to find an offensive groove on Tuesday night, dropping their first game of the season. Nate Dugener and Jared Varnado led the Warriors with seven points each.

HESPERIA 55, HOLLAND BLACK RIVER 28 – The Panthers opened up the season with a commanding victory Tuesday night. Traxton Gordon led Hesperia with 15 points and 13 rebounds while Mark Workman added 13 points and 10 rebounds.

HART 49, WHITE CLOUD 40- The Pirates were led by Alex Dodson and Garrett Eisenlohr with 10 points a piece.

RAVENNA 50, FRUITPORT CALVARY CHRISTIAN 31 – Ililo Bisee and Chris Byers led Fruitport Calvary in a losing effort with five points each.
