The West Michigan Lake Hawks received 31-point performances from Deontae Hudson and Marquis Brewer on Saturday but it wasn’t enough as they fell 119-114 to the visiting Illinois Bulldogs in ABA action. 

West Michigan held a lead through three quarters, building a 30-19 edge after the first while leading 52-47 at halftime. But Illinois outscored West Michigan 37-30 in the fourth quarter to overcome the Lake Hawks, who led 82-80 after the third quarter.

Hudson caught fire for West Michigan, scoring 14-straigh points in the first half and also finished with 10 rebounds, six assists and five steals.

Terry Walker and Otis Smith both came through with double-doubles for the Lake Hawks. Walker finished with 24 points and 11 rebounds and Smith had 15 points and 25 rebounds.

The Lake Hawks return to action in Chicago where they face the Fury on Saturday and the Knights on Sunday.
