Muskegon Catholic wins girls soccer district opener over Fruitport Calvary Christian

Muskegon Catholic tallied three second-half goals in its 4-2 win over Fruitport Calvary Christian in the opening round of Division 4 district soccer action.

Natalie Bertolone scored two goals to lead MCC.

The Crusaders faced a tough Fruitport Calvary team that played even with MCC to a 1-1 first half tie.

Katherine Salisz and Micaela Halloran each had a goal and an assist for the Crusaders.

Brianna Zehr and Elise Maine scored goals for the Eagles and Samantha Rasmussen had an assist.

MCC outshot Fruitport Calvary 19-9 as Crusader goalie Mackenzie Wozniak had seven saves in the win.

Jessica Ladd also added an assist for MCC.
