Heinzman lifts Newaygo to dramatic win over Lakeview

LAKEVIEW – Reo Heinzman had the game of his life, helping to lift his Newaygo Lions  to a hard-fought 21-20 victory over host Lakeview.

The Lions were down 14-7 at half time and trailed 20-14 until 1:10 remaining in the game.  It was then that Heinzman scored his third touchdown of the game to knot the score at 20-20.

He then calmly kicked the extra point keeping his team perfect for the season at 3-0.

“We had a good discussion at halftime,”  said Coach Andy Bush.  The speech seemed to work as Heinzman and his team rallied from behind.

The Newaygo fullback had over 100 yards to match his scoring prowess.
