Shores girls golf finishes 4th at Ryder Cup Invite

HUDSONVILLE – After wrapping the city and OK Black Conference titles, the Mona Shores Sailor girls golf team began its preparation for the upcoming MHSAA tournament season with a fourth-place finish at Thursday’s Ryder Cup Invite at Hudsonville’s Sunnybrook Country Club.

The Sailors’ Rylee George won top medalist honors, completing half of the course in a one-over-par 38, while teammate Kendall McKinley shot a 43.

Alternating shot format was played by Shores’ Maddie Burda and Darian Smith, who finished with a score of 54, good for a second-place finish. Scamble format was played by Amy Gillings and Sami Sandorn, who finished with a 50.

As a team, the Sailors finished with 186 strokes, just four shots back of invite-winner Hudsonville.
