The Montague volleyball team posted a 5-0-1 record on Tuesday to win the Mason County Central Invitational.

The Wildcats cruised past Shelby, Manistee and Fremont in two straight sets before splitting a two-set match with Ludington.

Montague defeated Holton in two sets during the semifinals, then captured the tournament with a three-set win in the finals over Hesperia.

The Wildcats were led by Reilly Murphy with 41 kills and 44 digs, while Lauren Seaver added 31 kills.

Raegan Murphy added 11 aces for Montague and Maddy Winn had 10.

Hesperia took second place in the tournament and is now 8-4 overall on the season.

The Panthers were paced by Emily Bayle with 45 kills, 26 digs and seven aces, while Ally Bayle added 36 kills, nine aces and seven blocks. Kyra Sayer chipped in with 12 aces and 61 assists.

Holton, which lost in the semifinals to Montague, was paced by Megan Baker with 22 kills, while Morgan Murat and Kylie Gould added 11 aces. Madi Baker and Gould contributed defensively with 30 digs each.

Ludington also fell in semifinal action after posting a 1-1-3 record.

The Orioles were paced by Zoee Zatarga with 22 kills, seven aces and 16 digs, while Randi Stone chipped in with 38 assists.

Shelby posted a 1-3 record during the invitational.
