Tigers 10, Twins 8– Nick Castellanos and J.D Martinez homered late to lead the Tigers over the Minnesota Twins on Monday night.

LSJ Logo incertThe Tigers jumped out to an 8-0 lead in the first inning, but watch the lead slip away on eight unanswered runs by the Twins.

Detroit regained its lead on a run in both the seven and eighth innings.

The Tigers were paced by Jose Iglesias with a double and three RBIs while Ian Kinsler, J.D. Martinez and Castellanos each homered and knocked in two runs.Eye on the D

Detroit’s starting pitcher Jordan Zimmermann picked up his team leading sixth win, allowing seven earned runs on 11 hits while striking out nine batters in seven innings.

Francisco Rodriguez pitched his 10th save of the season, tossing a clean ninth inning for the Tigers.

The Twins were led by Kurt Suzuki and Miguel Sano with a home run and two RBIs apiece.

The Tigers are now 17-21 on the season, good for fourth place in the American League Central Division behind the Chicago White Sox.

Detroit will look to win its third straight game with a victory over the Twins on Tuesday night.
