Boys soccer roundup: Western Michigan Christian captures Lakes 8 title, blanks OV

The Western Michigan Christian boys soccer squad captured another Lakes 8 Conference title, blanking Orchard View 3-0 on Thursday.
The Warriors entered the game ranked No. 1 in Division 4 and managed to beat the Cardinals with three second-half goals coming in the last 30 minutes of the game.

Hayden Hubers opened scoring with a goal that was assisted off an Isaac VanHoven corner kick.
Charlie Alfree gave the Warriors a 2-0 lead before Brevin Byrne closed out the scoring with an unassisted goal from 25 yards out.
WMC goalkeeper Jameson Goorman stopped all five OV shots to pick up a shutout win.
The Warriors are now 14-1-2 on the season and 7-1 in league play while OV dropped its record to 12-3-1 and 4-2-1 in conference action.
REETHS-PUFFER 9, MUSKEGON 0- The Rockets cruised to an O-K Black Conference win on Thursday night.
River Shackleford led the Rockets with two goals, while Andrew Storck, Brad Stephenson, Jaxon Carpenter, Troy Beebe, Jadyn Flannery, Ashton Carpenter and Brandon Mazurkiewicz each recorded a goal on the game.
Beebe finished the game with two assists for Reeths-puffer, and goalkeeper DaMario Chapman earned the shutout win in net.
FRUITPORT CALVARY CHRISTIAN 2, TRI-UNITY CHRISTIAN 2 – The Eagles, who trailed 1-0 halftime, were led by Ben Zelenka and Luke Assaad with a goal each.
FCC is now 10-3-1 on the season and 4-3-1 in league play.
