The Muskegon Lumberjacks won their fourth straight game on Saturday, defeating the Youngstown Phantoms 3-0 at the Covelli Centre.

The Lumberjacks, who will face the Chicago Steel in their home opener next Saturday, improved to 4-0 on the season, good for eight points and first place in the USHL’s Eastern Conference.

Muskegon’s goaltender Brandon Bussi stopped all 33 shots he faced to earn his first shutout of the season.

The Lumberjacks opened the scoring on a goal from Danill Gushchin at the 11:16 mark of the first period to give Muskegon a 1-0 lead.

Nolan Sullivan increased the Lumberjacks advantage to 2-0 at the 14:49 mark of the second period.

Muskegon closed out the scoring 10 minutes into the third period on a goal from Hunter Skinner.

Skinner also had an assist in the contest for the Lumberjacks along with Alex Yakovenko, Brock Bremer and Jagger Joshua.
