The Muskegon Clippers fell in extra innings on Wednesday night, falling to the St. Clair Green Giants 4-3 in 10 innings.

The Clippers are now 4-4 on the season and will look to take the three-game series over the Green Giants tomorrow night in the rubber match. First pitch is slated for 7:05 p.m.

Both teams exchanged runs in the first inning and the game remained tied 1-1 until the sixth inning when the Clippers grabbed a 2-1 lead.

But the Green Giants quickly responded with two runs in the bottom half of the sixth frame to take a 3-2 lead.

Muskegon tied the game with two outs in the top of the ninth inning to force extra innings. But St. Clair won the contest in the 10th inning on a walk-off single by Jayden Wakeham.

Brian Martin suffered the loss from the mound for the Clippers, allowing one run on three hits in 3 2/3 innings. Starting pitcher Charles Heil tossed six innings and allowed three runs on three hits while striking out six batters.

The Clippers were led offensively by Austin Eifrid and Micah Allen with two hits apiece, while Tre Morris and Noah Hecht each knocked in a run.
