North Muskegon used big plays and a suffocating defense to cruise to a win on Friday evening in a 26-0 victory over Grand Rapids NorthPointe Christian in the first round of Division 7 playoff action.

With the victory, North Muskegon improves to 4-3 on the season and will face defending state champion Pewamo-Westphalia next week.

The first quarter was scoreless, as was most of the second quarter before a 31-yard field goal from Gabe Rahrig with just under five minutes left broke the tie.

With a minute left in the half, quarterback Brennan Pannucci threw a 35 yard touchdown to receiver Amarion Dickerson to make the score 10-0.

Following a turnover by NorthPointe, Pannucci once again hit Dickerson for a 47-yard touchdown, making the score 17-0 at halftime.

With 5:45 left in the third quarter, the Norsemen blocked a punt and recorded a safety to extend their lead to 19-0.

Collin Schotts then punched in a one-yard touchdown run to make the score 26-0, and the defense North Muskegon held that score for the rest of the game.

Pannucci threw for 100 yards and two touchdowns, while Schotts totaled 77 yards to go along with his touchdown in the third. Dickerson caught three passes for 79 yards and two scores.

On the defensive side, Pannucci once again lead the way with 8.5 tackles along with a sack. Kyle Huff and Champ Young each added four tackles.
