The Spring Lake football team rushed for 419 yards in a 48-0 Division 4 first round playoff victory over Fremont on Friday night.

Spring Lake improved its record to 5-2, and will host Forest Hills Eastern in the second round next week. Fremont finished the season with a 2-5 record.

Spring Lake outscored Fremont 14-0 in the first quarter and 21-0 in the second to take a 35-0 halftime lead.

Spring Lake added to the lead late in the game with 13 fourth quarter points.

Quarterback Zach Mitchell completed 3 of 4 for 58 yards and two touchdowns on the night.  

Steve Ready rushed for 131 yards and two touchdowns on 14 attempts while also recording  a receiving touchdown. Jackson Core rushed for 97 yards and a touchdown on his sole carry of the game.

Defensively, Hunter Throop recorded nine tackles, while Noah Vandrummel and Alex Lee recorded six tackles apiece.
