The Spring Lake football squad dominated Holland Christian 34-2 on Friday night to improve to 3-2 overall and in O-K Blue Conference play.

The Lakers lone touchdown in the first half was scored on a run by Steve Ready to give Spring Lake a 7-0 lead.

Holland Christian added a safety to cut the Lakers advantage to 7-2 at halftime.

Ready continued on his successful day with rushing touchdowns of 60 and 21 yards, respectively, to give Spring Lake a 21-2 lead.

The Laker’s Brody Lightfoot was able to capitalize on a blocked punt, recovering the ball and running it in for a 19-yard score to extend the lead to 28-2.

Zach Mitchell closed out the scoring for Spring Lake with a seven-yard touchdown run.

The Lakers were paced defensively by Jackson Core with five tackles and an interception, while both Christian Folkert and Hunter Throop added four tackles apiece.

Spring Lake will host its rival Fruitport next Friday in the Battle of the Bayou.
