The Reeths-Puffer baseball team traveled to Holland on Wednesday and swept a doubleheader from the Dutch, winning 11-0 in the first game and 8-5 in the nightcap in O-K Green conference action.

Kaleb Mitchelson earned the win on the mound in Game 1, allowing only one hit and striking out three in three innings of work. Ryan Barmes closed out the final two innings, striking out four.

The Rockets scored in all five innings of play, and a huge six-run third inning helped seal the victory. Leaders at the plate were Alex Johnson, Kaden Edwards and Connor Paugh, who all had two hits. Ayden Willacker added a hit and walk.

The Rockets again jumped out to an early lead in Game 2, but Holland applied some late pressure.

Jeremy Ardshahi earned the win on the mound, throwing three innings with three strikeouts. Kendall Smith and Jaxson Whitaker relieved and helped maintain the Rockets’ lead.

Jaxson Whitaker led the way at the plate with two hits and an RBI. Edwards and Willacker each reached base multiple times.

Reeths-Puffer is now 4-4 on the season.

EAST GRAND RAPIDS 4, MONTAGUE 0 – The Wildcats had trouble generating offense against East Grand Rapids in a game played at Davenport University.

EGR scored one run in the first inning, two in the third and one in the fifth to seal the victory.

Kade Johnson had a double while Tugg Nichols and Aidan Buchberger each had singles for Montague.
