The West Michigan Whitecaps used a strong offensive showing to pick up a 8-4 road victory over Wisconsin on Tuesday night.

Andre Lipcius and Daniel Cabrera both had RBI doubles in the first inning to give the Whitecaps a 2-0 lead.

In the fourth inning, Reynaldo Rivera hit a solo home run to center field to extend the Whitecaps lead to 3-0.

Eliezer Alfonzo added to the Whitecaps lead in the sixth inning with a RBI single that scored Cabrera, making the score 4-0.

Later in the sixth inning, Bryant Packard scored on a wild pitch and Spencer Torkelson doubled home Alfonzo and Rivera to give the Whitecaps a 7-0 lead.

Wisconsin scored four runs on a grand slam in the seventh inning to cut the Whitecaps led to 7-4.

In the ninth inning, Alfonzo singled home Dillon Dingler, making the score 8-4 in favor of the Whitecaps who ultimately won by the same score.

Rivera and Alfonzo each led the Whitecaps with three hits on the night while Rivera also finished with two RBIs.

Starting pitcher Garrett Hill picked up the victory, allowing no runs on three hits and striking out eight over five innings.

The Whitecaps are now 5-7 overall and will continue the series at Wisconsin on Wednesday with first pitch scheduled for 7:35 p.m.
